The challenges

Government authorities and public institutions are dependent on utilising their IT infrastructure and services in a needs-based and therefore cost-efficient manner. In the course of digitalisation, the outsourcing of data and business processes to the cloud is indispensable and, in addition to scaling resources, also enables the more efficient transfer of information between different authorities, departments and stakeholders in the public sector. Critical infrastructure institutions and facilities (KRITIS) in particular require a very high level of reliability, data protection and data security. Against this backdrop, key factors need to be taken into account in the public sector and an iterative approach is required in order to identify risks at an early stage and implement complex IT projects in a targeted and cost-efficient manner.

Program management data and analysis platform

The aim of the programme is to set up a Group-wide data and analysis platform to fulfil the digital strategy of a European commercial airport. The data pool, which complies with data protection regulations, serves as a central repository in a private cloud in strict compliance with security requirements in order to make all relevant Group data centrally available for decision-making and innovation and thus utilise the growing volumes of data efficiently. The data lake forms the essential basis for machine learning and AI.

PoC for passenger tracking at a European airport

Implementation of a proof of concept (PoC) for passenger tracking as part of data collection for customer journey analysis using available data sources (e.g. WLAN handover data). The PoC served as proof of concept and an innovative basis for improving service quality and expanding the service offering by linking various data sources.

Introduction of a new core banking system

Transformation of reporting for National Health Service (NHS) Integrated Care System (ICS) in the BNSSG region by utilising big data technologies and PowerBI reporting and the necessary cultural change management.

Reporting has evolved from a manual, labour-intensive reporting process to a modern Microsoft PowerBI performance dashboard that focuses on insight and cross-referencing for users. Automated data pipelines and reporting in Microsoft Azure and PowerBI streamlined the overall process. This was supported by our change management with the aim of creating a culture of data-driven decision-making.
